Most Common 4 Digit PINs Easy to Crack Here’s Full List Change Yours If on List

Today, the world including India is troubled by those who usurp people’s hard-earned money by using advanced technology. A software firm says that with a 33% year-on-year increase in cyber attacks in the first quarter of 2024, India was one of the most targeted countries in the world. In cyber attacks, people’s personal information and bank details are stolen through flaws in their devices and sometimes money is stolen from their bank accounts remotely. In most cases, attackers take advantage of flaws in an app or system, but sometimes setting a very weak PIN or password by people also invites hackers.

Like other countries of the world, there are some people in India too who use PIN to keep themselves digitally safe, but they choose such a PIN which is easy for cyber attackers to crack. As we told you above, a report by Check Point Software Technologies states that India was ranked first in the list of most targeted countries with a 33% year-on-year increase in cyber attacks in the first quarter of 2024. Although there may be many reasons behind this, but there is also one reason, by fixing which people can avoid such attacks. We are talking about weak PIN, because the latest trend of ‘Information is Beautiful’ Report She says that many people use very simple patterns in their security code.

A weak PIN is the biggest threat for attackers to break into any system. Easy way A weak PIN can be anything like ‘0000’ or ‘1234’ or a person’s birthday, which is publicly visible on their profiles on many social media platforms nowadays. Some people also use the first or last digits of their phone number, without knowing that their phone number can also be easily obtained by attackers.

The latest cyber security study has revealed that many people use very common patterns in their security codes. Out of the 34 lakh PINs tested, the most common patterns are as follows:-

  • 1234
  • 1111
  • 0000
  • 1212
  • 7777
  • 1004
  • 2000
  • 4444
  • 2222
  • 6969

Gave one to the Daily Mail Statement Jake Moore, ESET cybersecurity expert at , advises against using simple passcodes, which can leave people vulnerable to cyberattacks. According to Moore, many people underestimate the risk “until they fall into the trap.”

“Skilled hackers can potentially crack a significant portion of passcode guesses within a limited number of attempts. The use of easy-to-guess PINs enables attackers to target people more easily,” he said.
