Uber faces tough competition from Ola in the app-based cab services segment in the country.

The company expects no change in the number of workforce in the upcoming quarters. Uber has also taken measures to reduce costs. Uber has made a big deal with Tata Motors related to environment friendly transportation in the country. Under this, 25,000 XPRES-T electric vehicles from Tata Motors will be supplied to the company. The company will use these electric sedans in its premium category service. The battery of XPRES-T is 26 kWh and 25.5 kWh. It can be charged from 0-80 percent in 59 minutes and 110 minutes respectively using fast charging.

These EVs joining Uber’s fleet will be used in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. The starting price of XPRES-T is Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its range is about 315 km. With the help of artificial intelligence related tools, Uber’s cab arrival time estimation has improved. The company plans to improve the user experience by using big data models.
