Google Play Store is offering the feature of downloading two new apps at the same time. This means that if you are installing two apps, they will be downloaded simultaneously and not one after the other. However, when you download a third app, it goes to the pending list and starts downloading when either of the two apps is installed. The special thing is that this feature is available only for new downloads. While updating an existing app, it still follows the queue system and is downloaded one by one.
Although, Apple Up to three simultaneous downloads can happen from the App Store at the same time. This is an improvement on how Google manages app downloads since the inception of the Play Store. The new feature now combines downloads in batches of two. This can save a lot of time when users switch to new phones and download apps in bulk.
However, it is not clear why Google has set the limit to two apps. One reason could be to keep data throttling to a minimum as multiple downloads can slow down network speeds, which will take longer than downloading all the apps one by one. A report by 9to5Google suggests that the Android maker is testing the feature and plans to increase the number of apps that can be downloaded simultaneously later.
Google is currently holding its annual developer conference Google I/O on May 14 and the company is expected to introduce Android 15 during the keynote session. According to a report, one of the new features that the tech giant may add is NFC wireless charging which will allow users to charge devices that do not have an in-built wireless charging solution but come with NFC support.
