CGTN’s according toThe trial run of the hydrogen-powered train took place on Thursday morning in Changchun, Jilin province. The technology was developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicle. During its successful test run, the train achieved a speed of 160 kilometres per hour when fully loaded. The train boasts an impressive driving range of over 1,000 kilometres, significantly reducing the need to stop for refuelling.
Before the test run, the hydrogen power system was tested for durability, performance in extreme temperatures (-25°C to 35°C), vibration resistance, electromagnetic compatibility and fire safety.
This successful test is a major milestone for China’s rail transit. India is also now focusing on this technology for transportation, especially for four-wheelers like cars. Toyota has already showcased one of its cars at the global level, which is capable of traveling long distances by taking power from hydrogen.
