Airtel Hikes Mobile Tariffs from July 3 by 11 21 Percentage after Jio announcement

[ad_1]

Bharti Airtel has increased mobile tariffs from today i.e. Friday, which will come into effect from July 3. Airtel has decided to increase telecom tariffs after the price hike by Reliance Jio. The aim of this move is to increase the average revenue per user (ARPU). Let us know how much more you will have to pay for prepaid plans after Airtel increases the tariffs.

Bharti Airtel has said that the mobile average revenue per user (ARPU) needs to be above Rs 300 to sustain a financially viable business model for telcos in India. We believe this level of ARPU will release the necessary investments in network technology and spectrum and provide a modest return on capital. Airtel will revise its mobile tariffs from July 3. We have ensured that the price increase for entry-level plans is very nominal (less than 70p per day) to minimise any burden on users using budget telecom plans.

Airtel hikes prices of its unlimited voice plans:

Airtel has increased the price of its Rs 179 prepaid plan to Rs 199, the Rs 455 plan to Rs 599, and the Rs 1,799 prepaid plan to Rs 1,999.

Airtel hikes prices of daily data plans:

Airtel has reduced the price of Rs 265 plan to Rs 299. The Rs 299 plan will now be available for Rs 349. The Rs 359 plan will cost Rs 409. The Rs 399 plan will cost Rs 449. The price of the Rs 479 plan has become Rs 579, the Rs 549 plan is now priced at Rs 649, the Rs 719 plan is now priced at Rs 859, the Rs 839 plan is now priced at Rs 979 and the Rs 2,999 plan is now priced at Rs 3,599.

Data add-on plans also became expensive:

The data add-on plan which used to start at just Rs 19 will now be available for Rs 22. It offers 1GB data with a validity of one day. The Rs 29 plan will now be available for Rs 33 and the Rs 65 plan will now cost Rs 77.

Let us tell you that Reliance Jio on Thursday announced the launch of new unlimited plans along with changes in tariffs. Jio announced a 12-27 percent increase in mobile tariffs which is the first time in two and a half years.
