Toyota MPV Innova Hycross Crosses Sales of 50,000 Units, Company to Build New Plant in Karnataka

Sales of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), one of the major automobile companies, have crossed 50,000 units of MPV Innova Hycross since its launch. Its price ranges from Rs 19.77 lakh to Rs 30.68 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is offering a warranty of three years or one lakh kilometers with it.

The company has also made it available in a hybrid version. Its petrol engine can generate a maximum power of 174 PS and a peak torque of 205 Nm. Its petrol hybrid engine generates a peak torque of 186 PS and 206 Nm. Its mileage is claimed to be 21.1 kmpl. The Innova Hycross with petrol engine is available in two variants – G and GX.

TKM has planned to set up its third plant in the country in Karnataka. For this, the company signed an MoU with the Karnataka government on Tuesday. This can increase Toyota’s production capacity by one lakh units. An investment of about Rs 3,300 crore will be made in this plant to be built in Bidadi, Karnataka. This plant will provide employment to about 2,000 people. The company has expanded its production capacity in the country. Production There is a plan to increase it. It has two plants in the country with a capacity of about 3.42 lakh units per year. Masahiko Maeda, Chief Operating Officer of Toyota’s Asia region, had said that the country’s market is very important for the company. The new plant will also help the company to increase its sales in the country.

Toyota has a major share in the international market for hybrid cars. It entered this segment in the country with the Prius. Japan’s Toyota claims that hybrid cars have lower carbon emissions than petrol engine cars. At the end of last year Company The Ministry of Trade Promotion and Industry had requested the Heavy Industries Ministry to balance the cess on hybrid cars. However, Tata Motors is against it.
