FPJ’s Report “Precaution is the best thing,” said Surat Cyber Crime ACP AP Gohil while introducing the chatbot. “Surat Cyber Mitra is a testimony to our commitment to make Surat a cyber-safe city. Anyone in India can connect with the chatbot by sending ‘Hi’ to WhatsApp number 93285-23417,” according to IANS.
The chatbot operates 24/7 and is a completely unmanned information center. In case of encountering a cyber scam, the chatbot provides immediate action steps and guides the user through the process of registering a complaint.
According to the report, users can report spam calls, emails and links, get information about financial and social media scams and ways to prevent them, start the social media scam complaint process, learn about social media privacy settings, and even get all the contact information for their local police station.
The chatbot offers its services in three languages: Gujarati, Hindi and English. The initiative is the latest product of Surat’s “Cyber Surakshit Surat” program, a comprehensive effort to combat cybercrime in the digital age.
