The uproar in Banbhulpura is not stopping. The administration has shut down internet services in Haldwani since Thursday night. According to ANI, 4 people have died in the Haldwani violence and more than 200 policemen have been injured. Instructions have been given to keep schools closed on Friday. The examinations of Kumaon University and Uttarakhand Open University have been cancelled. State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has called a high-level meeting in view of the matter.

The situation in Banbhulpura remains tense. Curfew was imposed here at night. According to media reports, the rioters were hiding their faces with handkerchiefs and masks. In 3 hours, they burnt more than 100 two-wheelers and vehicles. Policemen were pelted with stones from all sides. SDM and Tehsildar are also reported to be injured in the incident. There are orders to take action against the rioters under UAPA.
Haldwani’s Block Education Officer Harendra Kumar Mishra said in a media statement that due to security reasons, all types of schools from class 1 to class 12 in Haldwani will remain closed on Friday. Schools have been asked to strictly follow the instructions. Teams of police and other central forces are being sent to the spot. The state government has appealed to the citizens to maintain peace. It has been said that strict action will be taken against those who commit arson.
