Mercedes-Benz GLS Launched Price in India Starting Rs 1.32 Crores 3.0 Liter Turbocharged Diesel Petrol Engines Features Specifications All Details

Mercedes-Benz India on Monday, January 8 launched the new Mercedes-Benz GLS luxury SUV in India. It has been launched in two variants, which will be available with petrol and diesel engine options. Both are 3.0-liter turbocharged engines, of which the petrol model claims to generate maximum power of 375 hp and the diesel model 362 hp. Both engine options include 48V mild hybrid technology, which is capable of generating 20 hp and 200 Nm, as per the claim. The GLS SUV comes equipped with dual 12.3-inch screens, five-zone climate control, 13-speaker Burmester 3D sound system and panoramic sunroof.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLS will be available in two variants – GLS 450 4Matic and GLS 450d 4Matic, priced at Rs 1.32 crore and Rs 1.37 crore respectively (both prices ex-showroom). Mercedes says that buyers will also have the option of a service package, which starts at Rs 85,000. Bookings for the SUV have been started and deliveries are said to begin soon. However, the exact date is yet to be revealed.

The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450d is offered with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 362 hp of power and 750 Nm of peak torque. The GLS 450 comes equipped with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 375 hp of power and 500 Nm of peak torque. Both engines feature 48V mild hybrid technology and Mercedes claims that it delivers an additional 20 hp and 200 Nm.

Talking about the interior, the SUV gets dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrument cluster. It also includes five-zone climate control and ambient lighting. A 13-speaker Burmester 3D sound system has been provided for entertainment. The car comes with a powered tailgate and ventilated seats. It also gets a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of safety, the GLS models come equipped with 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera and ADAS system. It also has useful features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and auto emergency braking.
