Audi Gets 89 Percent Increase in Sales in India, SUV Performs Well For Company

German luxury car maker Audi’s sales in India grew by 89 percent last year. The company sold 7,931 units. This is the company’s highest sales in the last eight years. In the fourth quarter, Audi’s sales grew by almost 94 percent to 2,401 units. Last year, Audi launched three new cars – Q3 Sportback, Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron. Apart from this, limited editions of Q8, Q5 and S5 were introduced.

The company said that one out of every four of its customers is a repeat buyer of an Audi car. Recently, it opened the first ultra-fast charging station in the country at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. For this, the company has tied up with ChargeZone. Its total capacity is 450 kW. With this ultra-fast charger, the company’s Q8 can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just 26 minutes.

20 Audi armoured cars were leased for the G20 summit held last year. These cars were used for the safe and secure transportation of foreign dignitaries. Audi and Mercedes had record sales during the festive season. From Onam to Diwali, the festive season was good for these companies. The demand increased due to the launch of new cars and strong consumer sentiment.

The 42-day festive sale that started from the first day of Navratri was a great one for the country’s automobile industry. This year, vehicle sales during this period have set a record. The festival period starts from the first day of Navratri every year and continues till 15 days after Dhanteras.
