Maruti Suzuki Surpasses Manufacturing of 30 Lakh Cars in Gujarat Plant, First EV of Company eVX Will be Made From Next Year

The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat has achieved the milestone of manufacturing 30 lakh cars. Maruti Suzuki’s wholly-owned subsidiary Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited started this plant six years ago. Models like Swift, Baleno, Dzire and Fronx are manufactured here.

The company said that it has manufactured the last 10 lakh cars in about 17 months. The annual capacity of this plant is about 7.5 lakh units. Cars are manufactured here for sale in the country as well as for export. From next year, this plant will have a production capacity of 10 lakh cars. maruti suzuki the first of Electric Car eVX will also be manufactured. The company’s managing director, Hisashi Takeuchi, said that the ecosystem provided for manufacturing in the state has contributed significantly in achieving this feat. He said, “With the acquisition of Suzuki Motor Gujarat, we are expanding our manufacturing. Our battery electric vehicles will also be manufactured in the Gujarat plant.”

Maruti Suzuki’s sales have increased last month. The company sold around 1.34 lakh units in November. In the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki’s sales were around 1.32 lakh units. Cars like Baleno, Swift and WagonR have made a major contribution to the company’s sales. However, in the SUV segment, Brezza, Grand Vitara and Fronx have helped it achieve growth. Sales of the company’s small cars like Alto and S-Presso declined to 9,959 units last month. This was 18,251 units in the same month last year. Sales of its hatchback segment declined to 64,679 units. This was 72,844 units in November last year. This segment includes Celerio, Dzire and Ignis.

Maruti Suzuki’s sales in the SUV and MPV segment increased to 49,016 units. This segment includes Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny, S-Cross, Ertiga, Invicto and XL6. The company has increased its focus on SUVs. Due to increased demand in this segment, Maruti Suzuki’s profit increased by almost 80 percent in the last quarter. The company has decided to increase the prices of its cars from the beginning of the new year. Maruti Suzuki has said that the prices of cars are being increased due to increased cost pressure.
