Flipkart Sent Thomson TV Instead of Sony TV Worth Rs 1 Lakh Company Responds

[ad_1]

E-commerce platforms go on sale and as soon as the sale starts, people start complaining. Flipkart, one of the country’s largest e-commerce companies, recently organized the biggest sale of the year, Big Billion Days, and soon after its start, people started complaining on social media that their orders were canceled without their consent. Now, a person has told that he ordered a Sony TV worth about Rs 1 lakh during this sale and in return he got a Thomson TV inside the Sony TV box. After the post went viral on social media, a statement has also been issued by the company.

A user named Aryan shared his ordeal on X and said that he bought a Sony TV during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale. However, he was shocked when the TV turned out to be a low-priced model from another brand. In his post, he wrote, (translated) “I bought a Sony TV from Flipkart on October 7, delivery was done on October 10 and on October 11 the Sony installation guy came, he himself unboxed the TV and we were shocked to see a Thomson TV inside. The Sony box also did not have any accessories like stand, remote etc.”

He also shared unboxing pictures, stating that he immediately contacted Flipkart customer care and reported the complaint, but it remained unresolved even after two weeks.

He wrote, ‘I immediately raised the issue with Flipkart customer care and they asked me to upload pictures of the TV, I uploaded the pictures as instructed, still, they [फ्लिपकार्ट] I was asked two or three times to upload the pictures and I did as per their instructions.”

However, even after uploading the photos multiple times, the company has not acted on his return request.

Aryan said, “First they gave me a solution date of 24th October but on 20th they first showed it as resolved and then extended the date to 1st November. Today also they showed me that the problem is solved but my return request has also failed. I was waiting for BBD to buy the TV so that I can watch the World Cup on a nice big screen but this service of Flipkart has put me in stress which is really unbearable. Please help.”

Finally, Flipkart’s eyes opened after the post went viral and the company replied, writing (translated) “We are deeply sorry for your experience with the return request. We would like to resolve this for you. Please send us a DM with your order details so they remain confidential here.”

Another thing to note here is that Aryan’s television set was delivered by Delhivery, which does not give the option to check the product at the time of delivery.

Such complaints about Flipkart are not new. The company has been facing these complaints for the past several years. Especially during the sale, orders taken at attractive discounts get suddenly cancelled and a brick, stone, soap or any other product is found inside the box of a product.

Some people expressed their grief on Aryan’s post and said that they have gone through a similar problem. One user wrote, “I can understand you. I will never buy any expensive or big electronics from Flipkart. I had a bad experience with the phone I ordered. But the phones are still manageable. Handling anything bigger would be a nightmare. I would prefer to buy it from a nearby store.”
