Taliban Made Supercar Becomes Sensation in Geneva Motor Show

The demand for supercars has increased in the last few years. However, only select automobile companies manufacture these cars. Mada 9, a supercar made in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, was shown on social media platforms earlier this year. This supercar has entered the Geneva Motor Show held in Qatar. However, it is being called Simurgh instead of Mada 9.

It has been built by Afghanistan’s manufacturing company Entop and Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI). This supercar has been liked at the Geneva Motor Show, one of the most prestigious automotive events. It is completely black in color and has a sleek design. It has been claimed that this supercar has been designed by 30 engineers from Afghanistan. Its four-cylinder engine has been taken from the two-decade-old Toyota Corolla. However, its technical specifications have not been given. Simurgh’s engine is rear mounted and is installed between the tube chassis.

Entop, the maker of this supercar, has said that some changes have been made in the engine taken from Toyota for this supercar. Its front grill has been given sleek LED headlamps. Simurgh has a side profile with a sharp front splitter, large black alloy wheels, flared fenders and better air intake. It also gets pushrod suspension.

About Simurgh, Entop claims that it is a step ahead of other prototype supercars. Electric powertrain can also be installed in it. This car is still a prototype and Entop will need funding for its commercial manufacturing. Many restrictions have been imposed in Afghanistan since the Taliban took control. However, in the last few months, the Taliban government has reduced restrictions in some areas. The presence of automobile companies in Afghanistan is very less. Due to lack of manufacturing, there is a shortage of vehicles in Afghanistan. Cars And Two-wheeler are imported. Because of this their prices are high. Many countries have imposed sanctions on Afghanistan. This is also having a big impact on manufacturing. However, the Taliban government has made preparations to start manufacturing in some areas.
