Bhargava said that the central government has abolished more than 1,000 years old acts. This has made it easier to do business. However, its results are yet to be seen.
He said manufacturers and entrepreneurs have most of their interactions with state government officials and many of them are still operating in the old ways. “The bureaucracy and the entire administration in state governments have not changed like the central government. There are a lot of delays in work. The attitude of the administration is similar to the days of license and control,” Bhargava said.
Maruti Suzuki expects passenger vehicle sales to exceed 10 lakh units this festive season. This year the festive season started on 17 August and will continue till 14 November. During this period, automobile companies have to increase their sales. Sales gets a large share of. maruti suzuki Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer of Maruti Suzuki India, had said that usually the festive season accounts for 22-26 percent of the total sales during a year. He said, “The total sales of passenger vehicles in this financial year is estimated to be around 40 lakh units. The sales during the festive season may be around 10 lakh units.” Srivastava had said that the sales of the automobile industry have been strong this year and it is expected to continue in the coming months as well.
