AI Could Take Over 84 percent Government Jobs Says Study

[ad_1]

Now almost everyone in the world is aware of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As its name suggests, it is artificial intelligence which has its own understanding, but it works under programming. A shocking report has come out regarding Artificial Intelligence which says that AI can eat up about 84 percent of government jobs! Let’s know what this report says.

A research has been done by The Alan Turing Institute. This research was done in the UK. Where the institute studied 201 government services in which information is exchanged between the government and citizens. Report According to, the researchers found that these services are such that even if there is no human intervention in them, it will not make any difference. That is, these services can also be handed over to AI. For example, there is a possibility in services like passport processing, and registration for voting etc. that they can also be run in automated mode.

The study says that AI Automation has reduced the time taken in transactions by every minute, saving thousands of hours of human staff time. Also, with the advent of automation, officers can be freed from the never-ending bureaucracy and spend more time in dealing with the public.

Dr. Jonathan Bright, Head of AI for Public Services and Online Safety at The Alan Turing Institute, said that AI has immense potential to help governments become more responsive, efficient and fair. If AI saves even 1 minute per transaction, then this time will come out in the form of saving thousands of hours in a year. But it has also been said that if responsible and accurate automation is to be implemented with AI, then a lot of hard work will have to be done with AI right now. But this time which will be given to AI will bring double benefits in the future.

In the study, research was done on the working of the UK government, and it was found that all the services in government services that carry out about 14.3 crore transactions can be automated. And these transactions are repeated. That is, the transactions are repeated again and again. In such a situation, if automation is implemented on the service, then human intervention for transactions can be eliminated.

In January, International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Kristalina Georgieva said that AI is going to pose a big risk to job security around the world. But it also has immense opportunities which can increase productivity and boost global growth. Georgieva said that AI can affect 60 percent of jobs around the world.
