Amazon Get Center Notice For Selling Sweets As Ayodhya Ram Mandir Prasad

The Prana Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Mandir is going to be held tomorrow i.e. on 22 January when there will be a festive atmosphere across the country. But before that another news related to Ram Mandir is coming. Amazon has been sent a notice by the Center in which the e-commerce website has been accused of selling sweets in the name of Ram Mandir Prasad and misleading customers. The Center’s notice has accused the e-commerce site of deceptive trade, saying that it is selling sweets by calling them ‘Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad’.

A complaint was filed by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). On the same complaint, this notice has been sent to Amazon by the Center. NDTV According to the complaint, Amazon has been accused of misleading customers by selling sweets in the guise of prasad. The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has said in this regard that such work misleads customers, and they start buying the misrepresented product. This affects their decision to make a purchase.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority has said that selling food products online by misrepresenting them misleads the user about the actual characteristics of that product. Such an act forces the user to make such purchasing decisions, which he might not have made if he was aware of the reality of that product. Therefore, doing so is wrong.

Amazon But the entire list of products listed in the name of Ram Mandir has been brought under the scanner, which includes Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad- Raghupati Ghee Laddu, Ayodhya Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad, Khoya Khobi Laddu, Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad- Desi Cow Milk Peda etc. CCPA has sent a notice to Amazon asking it to respond in this regard within 7 days. If the company does not take any necessary steps, action will be taken against it under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
