Insider’s Report According to the report, the company is allowing its managers to fire those employees who are not following the order of coming to office 3 days a week. This information has been obtained from Amazon’s updated global manager guidance.
It is said that earlier this week, Amazon shared updated guidelines with its managers through an internal portal. It is worth noting that most of the Amazon employees have to come to the office 3 times a week. Amazon’s decision is being seen as its strict step.
However, those who do not come to office have not been immediately terminated, but managers will have to complete a three-step process. In the first step, managers will have to have a private conversation with those employees who are not coming to office for three days a week. This will have to be documented in an e-mail.
Even after this, if the employee does not come to the office, then the second step will be followed. In this, they will be told that they have to come to the office three days a week. Explanation will be sought from the employees and they will be told that action can be taken against them if they do not come to the office without a valid reason. This also includes termination.
In the last stage, HR will issue a written warning and talk about action. Ultimately, the job can be terminated. It is worth noting that in February this year, Amazon had told the employees that from May onwards, they will have to come to the office at least 3 days a week. The employees who were from remote areas were asked to go to the nearest office where most of their team members work.
