Apple in Problem After Women Employees Sues Company over Salary Discrimination

[ad_1]

Two women employees of the American technology company Apple have filed a lawsuit alleging salary discrimination. The lawsuit states that when recruiting a new person, the company looks at how much salary he or she was paid in his or her previous job. This can be a problem because studies have shown that women often get less salary than men in many companies.

According to Bloomberg report, this case has been filed in California, USA by Christine Jong and Samantha Salgado. It states that if the company decides how much package should be given to the new employee on the basis of the salary of the previous job, then women can get less salary, even if they are doing the same work as men. These two women employees who have filed a case against the company want to represent many other women who are currently working in Apple or have worked in the past.

It has been told in this report that Samantha had expressed her apprehension many times about the disparity in the salary. However, Apple Apple increased her salary only after a third-party investigation confirmed the difference in her salary compared to her male colleagues, but Samantha did not receive her previous salary. Apple has not commented on this case.
