Tata Motors’ sales in January grew 12 percent on a year-on-year basis. The company sold 54,033 units including electric vehicles (EV) last month. Its sales were 48,289 units in the same period last year. Tata Motors’ export of passenger vehicles has also increased. In January Company Tata Motors has exported 400 units. This is an increase of about 32 percent compared to the same period last year. In the last few months, Tata Motors has launched updated versions of Harrier, Nexon and Safari. This has contributed significantly to the company’s growth. The company’s growth in the EV segment has been 69 percent on a year-on-year basis. Recently it launched the electric version of Punch. It ranks first in the electric car segment with a share of about 85 percent.
South Korea’s Hyundai Motor’s wholesales in January rose by about 8.5 percent to 67,615 units. The company had sold 62,276 units in the same period last year. Hyundai’s sales in the country grew 92 percent to 24,609 units. The company had sold 12,835 units in the same period last year.
Honda Cars’ sales in January have increased by more than 10 percent to 8,681 units. The company’s exports have also increased. It exported 4,531 units in January. The SUV Elevate, launched last year, has contributed significantly to the company’s growth. The company launched Elevate in September last year. Its average sales every month are more than 4,000 units. Honda Cars Honda sold 7,821 units in January last year. Elevate has helped Honda Cars to increase sales in the last few months. Recently, Honda Cars increased the price of Elevate by Rs 58,000. Its starting price is Rs 11.58 lakh. The price of its top-end dual-tone variant has increased to Rs 16.48 lakh. The compact SUV Elevate has a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine.
