Cab Driver Request to Customers Pay Rs 5 Extra For AC

Nowadays people use air-conditioned taxis more than auto rickshaws, especially in this scorching heat, cabs provide more relief than autos. This is what everyone wants in today’s time. However, sometimes drivers are reluctant to turn on the AC, they worry that this will reduce their mileage and increase fuel costs. Due to this concern, a driver had to post a notice for passengers in his taxi, asking them to pay a separate charge if they want cooling.

However, the response to this was opposite. The photo of his plea started going viral rapidly and most people were not supporting him. One user commented that “Drivers who never earned anything before are now earning a minimum of 30-40 thousand even in tier 2-3 cities. Greed has no limits. If I am wrong, tell me, but car AC does not have any significant impact on mileage.”

Another said, “I don’t want to comment on their demands, however instead of fighting with the company, it is not right to punish your customers by not giving them AC. Also, when you switch on the AC, there is not much difference in mileage.”

Inside cities, AC may affect mileage.” Ola and Uber reportedly charge 25 to 40 per cent of the fare as their commission, depending on factors such as the mode of payment and peak hours or surge pricing.
