Earlier, big software companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys had also made it mandatory for their workers to return to the office. Tax Consultant has updated the policy related to variable pay and made work from office important in it. This policy was implemented after the announcement of the company’s quarterly results. In this, four attendance slabs have been created to decide the variable pay of the workers.
Under the company’s new policy, those who attend office less than 60 percent in a quarter will not get any variable pay for that quarter. Workers with 60-75 percent attendance in TCS office will get 50 percent of the variable pay, and those with 75-85 percent attendance will get 75 percent. Only workers with more than 85 percent attendance in office will be given full variable pay for that quarter. This policy warns that disciplinary action will be taken against workers who continuously violate the 85 percent work rule from office. TCS CEO, K Krithivasan had called returning to office important. The company had earlier also given reminders to the workers to return to office.
