Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday ordered all government and private primary schools in the city to remain closed for the next two days as air pollution in the country’s capital has reached dangerous levels. Kejriwal gave this information through a post on Twitter. He wrote in his post, “In view of the increasing level of pollution, all government and private primary schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 2 days.”

In recent times, the Air Quality Index of Delhi and NCR has reached dangerous levels, some of the main reasons for which are stubble burning in neighboring states, vehicle emissions and industrial pollution.

The Delhi government has written a letter to the UP and Haryana governments to divert vehicles from the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
At the same time, private companies have been suggested to ask their employees to work from home. 50 percent of Delhi government employees will work from home.
