According to the notification of the Delhi Government, winter break has been declared in all the schools of Delhi from 9 November to 18 November. This is probably the first time that winter holidays have been declared before winter.

For the past few days, schools were shifted to online classes. Many schools were organizing classes on mediums like Zoom App and Google Meet. Now the Delhi government has said that all the schools in the capital will remain closed till November 18.
What is special is that the winter break holidays which fall in the last week of December and the first week of January have been announced well in advance. The government has taken this decision keeping in mind the health of children. The level of air pollution in Delhi and NCR has been in the ‘hazardous’ category since the end of October. The AQI level has crossed the 900 mark in many areas. Keeping in mind the safety of children, all students except board students were taking online classes.
Now orders have been issued to close all schools for winter break. Holidays are being adjusted as winter break so that the syllabus can be completed on time.
