According to a PTI report, there are a total of 91 parking sites in the NDMC area. Out of these, 41 are managed by the NDMC. The maintenance of the rest has been outsourced to other agencies. Parking lots between Rajpath and AIIMS fall in the NDMC area. These include Sarojini Nagar Market, Khan Market, Lodhi Road, INA and Safdarjung. There is a lot of vehicle traffic at these places.
In order to encourage citizens to use public transport to reduce the air pollution, NDMC enhanced Parking fees (off road/on road) to twice of the existing fee for parking managed by NDMC through its own staff till 31st January 2024.
