Dornier 228 aircraft made in India reached Guyana will be used by the army

India is now making its place as an exporting country in the field of aerospace and defense. India has sent two Dornier 228 aircraft to the Guyana Army. These have been manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Guyana’s President Dr. Mohammad Irfan Ali has informed about the delivery of the aircrafts. He has told that both the aircrafts have reached Guyana. They were delivered at Cheddi Jagan International Airport on the evening of 31 March.

According to media reports, Dornier 229 aircraft were transported to Guyana with the help of Boeing C-17 Globemaster military transport aircraft. In the coming time, the Guyana Army will be able to use them. In India, Dornier 229 is used for transport and cargo transportation.

According to reports, the Indian Army has a total of 27 Dornier 228 aircraft. They were first used in the year 1985. The Indian Navy is using Dornier 229 aircraft. There is a plan to add 8 more aircraft to the fleet. Apart from the Navy, Dornier 228 aircraft are also being used in the Air Force. There they are used for transport.

Features of Dornier 228

According to media reports, this aircraft has a seating capacity of 19-20 people. The length of the aircraft is said to be 54.4 feet. It can travel more than 400 kilometers in an hour and can fly continuously for 10 hours. The aircraft can be taken to a height of 7.62 kilometers. It also has the ability to land and take off in a small area.

2 pilots are required to fly Dornier 228. Looking at these qualities of the aircraft, now Guyana’s army is going to use it.
