A tourist group in Kuruppanathara in the South district of Kerala, while following Google Maps, fell into a stream of water. Actually, the road which was called Google Maps I was seeing water flowing on it. The incident happened on Friday night when a group of four people were going towards Alappuzha. There was a woman among these four people.
Since it was raining heavily in Kerala, the road on which these people were travelling was flooded with water. It is natural for people who are new to the area to be unaware of this. So these people followed the maps and continued on their way. But gradually the car started getting caught in the water and started sinking.
The lives of all four were in danger. Then the police patrolling nearby was informed about this. After that, with the help of police and local people, all four people were taken out of the water. But during this time, the car of these tourists got submerged in water. Report According to, an official from the Kaduthuruthy police station said that efforts were also being made to pull out the vehicle.
But this is not the first incident in Kerala. Two years ago in October, two young doctors also fell into a river while following Google Maps. After the incident, the Kerala police has issued guidelines as a precaution that technology should be used very carefully during the monsoon.
