In the last few weeks, cases of creating deepfakes through misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have increased. In this, fake videos of politicians and celebrities are created and they are harassed. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also warned about this. The central government has prepared to take steps to curb this problem.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Tuesday indicated that the government may take a tough stand on this. He said, “You will have to wait till November 24 to see what we do. We will talk to the industry and bring a comprehensive framework to strengthen the existing framework.” Chandrasekhar said that the government is working on a new framework to ensure that the industry is able to meet the demand. Framework It will prepare a system so that the security of crores of internet users in the country is not threatened by deepfakes. The government is in discussions with intermediaries to deal with this problem.

He said, “We are connecting with all the platforms. I believe that the government and the platforms are partners to make the Internet open, safe, reliable and accountable in the country. Deepfakes, which are misinformation being created using AI, are a big and clear threat to the people of the country who use the Internet. We have already worked hard and made IT rules.” Last week, Prime Minister Modi had described the misuse of artificial intelligence in making deepfake videos as a big concern. Modi had said that he ChatGPT has asked the team to identify deepfakes and issue warnings when such videos are circulated on the Internet. He said that in the era of artificial intelligence, it is important that technology is used responsibly.

There are many such videos available on the Internet.” He asked the media to make people aware of this issue. The issue of deepfake videos has been in the headlines for the last few weeks. The deepfake video of popular actress Rashmika Mandanna has given it more importance. This video was prepared by editing.
