Honda Motorcycle Registers 86 Percent Sales Growth in February, Improvement in Rural Demand Gives Push to Company

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), one of the largest two-wheeler companies, has seen a 86 percent increase in sales in February on a year-on-year basis. Last month, the company sold 4,85,711 units. In the same month last year, the sales were 2,47,195 units. The company said that its wholesales in the country were 4,13,967 units. In February last year, it was 2,27,084 units.

This Japanese company has a large range of motorcycles and scooters. It is the largest manufacturer of scooters in the scooter market. Activa It has been in the first position for many years with . Rural demand is a big contributor to the company’s sales. HMSI expects that the growth momentum in the two-wheeler segment will continue in the coming months as well.

Recently, HMSI launched the SP125 Sports Edition motorcycle. Its price is Rs 90,567 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will be available at Honda Red Wing dealerships across the country. This motorcycle has an improved tank design, matte muffler cover and new graphics. It will be available in Decent Blue Metallic and Heavy Grey Metallic colours. It has a bright LED headlamp, fully digital instrument console. Mileage related information will also be available in its instrument console along with gear position indicator. The SP125 Sports Edition has a 123.94 cc, single cylinder BS 6, OBD2 compliant PGM-FI engine, which generates 8 kW of power and 10.9 Nm of torque. The company is offering a special 10-year warranty with it which includes three years of standard warranty and seven years of optional warranty.

International Automobile Company Honda plans to invest $3.4 billion in making electric motorcycles and mopeds. Honda, one of the world’s largest two-wheeler makers, plans to launch 30 new electric two-wheelers by the end of this decade. The company also aims to reduce the cost of electric motorcycles. The company had said in a statement that it would invest about $700 million by 2025 for the electrification of its motorcycles. After this, about $2.7 billion will be invested by 2030. Honda has also increased its global sales target to 4 million units by 2030. The company plans to initially use the existing infrastructure for its internal combustion engine models.
