Davuluri hails from India and graduated from IIT Madras. After post graduation from the University of Maryland, he joined Microsoft as a Reliability Component Manager. Davuluri has been working at Microsoft for more than 23 years. Now with the new position, he has joined the category of Indians leading tech companies in America along with others like Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella. An internal letter from Rajesh Jha, head of Microsoft’s Experience and Devices, announced the resignation of Parakhin and the new position of Davuluri. Davuluri will now report to Jha.
He wrote that “As part of this change, we are bringing together the Windows Experience and Windows + Devices teams as a core part of the Experience + Devices (E + D) division. This will help us embrace a bigger vision to build silicon, systems, experiences, and devices spanning the Windows client and cloud for this AI era. Pawan Davuluri will lead this team and continue to report to me. Shilpa Ranganathan and Jeff Johnson and their teams will report to Pawan. The Windows team will continue to work closely with the Microsoft AI team on AI, silicon, and experiences.
Rajesh Jha led the team Microsoft Informed about the changes within the Windows and Web Experience (WWE) team after the establishment of the AI organization. Mikhail Parkhin will take on a new role under the supervision of Kevin Scott after transferring from WWE. Windows Experience and Windows + Devices will be combined into the Experience + Devices (E + D) division, led by Pawan Davuluri, to work on the growth of systems, experiences and devices for the AI era. Shilpa Ranganathan and Jeff Johnson will report directly to Davuluri. The Windows team will work closely with Microsoft AI on AI, silicon and experience. The Web Experience team will now report to Mustafa within the Microsoft AI organization.
