Kia has announced its upcoming pickup truck Tasman. This will be the first pick-up truck from the company. Kia says that Tasman will redefine the concept of lifestyle pickup. The company plans to launch Tasman in 2025 and it will be launched in a phased manner in markets like Korea, Australia, Africa and the Middle East. The company says that the reason behind this move is to meet the unique demands and preferences of each region.
For example, Australia’s strong market for pickup trucks, Korea’s growing interest in outdoor activities and Africa and the Middle East’s need for off-road. At present, the company has not said whether it will be brought to the Indian markets later or not.
As we mentioned, Kia has not officially revealed any information about the upcoming pickup. Talking about the rumors, it is believed that the upcoming pickup will be inspired by the company’s Telluride SUV. It can get a 2.2-liter turbocharged CRDi diesel engine, which is capable of generating power output of more than 200 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. It is also likely to get 4×4 and multiple terrain modes for offroading. However, all these are just speculations right now. We expect more information to be shared by the company in the coming time.
