Luxury Car Market Getting Strong Demand, BMW Delivery Increases 51 Percent in First Quarter

German luxury car company BMW’s delivery in the first quarter has increased by 51 percent to 3,680 units. Apart from this, the company has sold about 1,810 motorcycles. The luxury car market in the country is growing rapidly. However, it is much less than China and western countries. BMW said that after making record sales last year, this year has started well.

There is a strong demand for the company’s sports activity vehicles. These include BMW X7, BMW X3 and BMW X1. Vikram Pawah, President of BMW’s Indian unit, said, “We have maintained our first position in the luxury electric car market. Our flagship models are leading in their segments. The company plans to launch some new ones.” In the luxury electric car market, the company has models like BMW i7, BMW iX, BMW i4, BMW iX1 and MINI SE. BMW’s i7 is the best-selling luxury electric car.

Some other luxury car companies are also trying to increase their share in this fast-growing segment. Mercedes-Benz ranks first in this market. Apart from this, Audi is also among the major companies in this segment. BMW Group’s portfolio in the country includes BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands. The recently launched BMW iX1 EV was sold out on the opening day itself. Last year Company had said that a large number of customers who are buying premium cars for the first time are choosing BMW. Apart from this, existing customers are also making additional purchases.

last year BMW had launched the new MINI Charged Edition. It is based on the fully electric MINI 3-door Cooper SE. Its price is around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be brought to the country as a completely built unit (CBU). It has some upgrades compared to the standard variant. The MINI Charged Edition has been brought in a new Chili Red color and a multi-tone roof finished in white. It has Aspen White exterior trim and headlamp and taillight rings, door handles and logos are in the same color. It has frozen red stripes and energetic yellow highlights on the bonnet and doors and the air inlet on the bonnet is finished in chrome. This limited edition car has 17-inch power spoke alloy wheels.
