According to the report, an official from Bhayander police station said that it appears that the victim’s parcel was tampered with during delivery. He also informed that the victim had ordered an iPhone model worth Rs 46,000 from the online shopping platform.
Police said, citing the complaint lodged by the victim, that when he opened the package, he found three dishwashing soaps inside the mobile phone packet. Police on Saturday registered a case against the unidentified offender under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and investigation has begun.
This is not the first incident where soap has been found inside someone’s smartphone box. last year A person had bought iPhone 12 during the Big Billion Days sale. He had opted for the e-commerce platform’s open box scheme for this delivery, in which at the time of delivery, the package is first opened and shown to the customer and then the customer is asked for the OTP received on his phone to register the successful delivery.
