It sold more than 61,000 units in the utility segment. In this segment, the company’s Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross and XL6 are getting good response from the customers. From April last year to February this year, Baleno, Swift and WagonR were among the company’s best selling cars. Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch a new version of Swift.
Three cars of the company will be subjected to Bharat NCAP crash test. Bharat NCAP will be an important step towards improving road safety in the country. Under this, safety standards have been increased for motor vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. This will make it easier for car buyers to assess the crash safety of motor vehicles available in the automobile market. Under Bharat NCAP, car makers can voluntarily get their cars tested.
However, Maruti Suzuki has not said when these cars will be tested. Company Maruti’s Baleno and Brezza have been tested through Global NCAP before and the results were mixed. Maruti’s Grand Vitara got a four-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test about six years ago. In this crash test, the star rating will be given based on the performance of the car. Before buying the car, customers will be able to compare the safety standards of different vehicles by looking at these star ratings. India is the fifth country in the world to have started such a system for car crash tests. After the implementation of the new safety regulation, the demand for safer cars is expected to increase. This will also encourage car makers to test their models under Bharat NCAP for manufacturing safe cars.
