PM Modi Inaugrates IMC 2023 Said India Will be Global Leader in 6G Rollout Made in India Phones Startups and More

The Indian Mobile Congress (Indian Mobile Congress 2023) has started today and Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s largest technology platform at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. During this, Akash Ambani, Sunil Mittal, Kumar Mangalam Birla and Ashwini Vaishnav were also present with him. This three-day tech event will focus on 6G as well as other telecom technologies. On the first day, Reliance Jio also showcased its satellite-based high-speed internet service, JioSpaceFiber. IMC will also provide new information about AI applications, edge computing, Industry 4.0 and India Stack. PM Modi addressed the people after the inauguration.

After inaugurating IMC 2023, PM Modi addressed the people. Regarding 5G, he said that the average broadband speed increased almost three times last year. India was ranked 118th in terms of global internet speed for a long time, now it is close to 40 due to 5G rollout. He said that within a year of the rollout of 5G, it has more than 4 lakh base stations and is covering 80 percent of the population with 97 percent subscribers.

He said that India is preparing to become a global leader in 6G technology. While talking about the importance given by the government to the startup ecosystem, he said that while there were about a few hundred startups in the country in 2014, today this number has increased to over a lakh. He said that India is one of the top 3 startup ecosystems in the world.

PM Modi also mentioned Made-in-India and said that Google will make its Pixel devices in India and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and iPhone 15 have already started being made in India. Soon the world will use Made-in-India phones. Apart from this, he also said that before 2014, India was an importer of mobile phones, but now it has also become an exporter. India is now the second largest mobile manufacturer in the world and exports electronics worth Rs 2 lakh crore.
