The Skoda Kodiaq will now be sold only in the top-spec L&K variant and its price has been reduced from Rs 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This is a reduction of Rs 2 lakh. Earlier the SUV also came in two other trims – Style and Sportline, but both of these have now been discontinued. The new price is available with the company’s online booking. Apart from the price cut, there are no other changes to the Kodiaq. The SUV comes equipped with the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine as before, which generates a maximum power of 190hp and a peak torque of 320Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels.
The reason behind discontinuing the trim could be the company’s upcoming car. Let us tell you that the company has already announced that it is preparing to launch a sub-4 meter SUV soon to compete with models like Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonnet, Tata Nexon. The company had also recently taken suggestions from people to name this SUV. The upcoming model will be based on the same MQB-A0-IN platform as the company’s other two cars Kushaq and Slavia.
