Suzuki Starts Manufacturing of Flying Cars with Help from SkyDrive

Suzuki Motor, one of the biggest automobile companies, has started manufacturing its first flying car. Maruti Suzuki displayed this flying car at the Gujarat Vibrant Summit held earlier this year. This fully electric autonomous Skycar is being jointly developed with Japan’s flying car startup Skycar.

This flying car is being manufactured at Suzuki Motor’s plant in Iwata city of Japan. In October last year, Suzuki Motor and Skycar tied up to develop this flying car, which can be used as an air taxi in urban areas. A media Report According to, the flying car displayed in India earlier this year was a prototype of the model being built at Suzuki’s Japan plant. This flying car will be able to take off and land from the rooftops of buildings. It may be displayed at an expo to be held in Osaka, Japan next year.

Suzuki Motor has set a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and this project is a part of it. The company plans to make about 100 units of it every year. This flying car with autonomous features has a range of 15 minutes and during this time it can travel up to 15 kilometers. Its capacity will be two passengers. It flies with the help of 12 units of motors and rotors. Its top cruising speed is about 100 kmph. Suzuki Motor also plans to develop a bigger and more feature-rich flying car by 2031, which will have a capacity of three passengers and will be able to travel up to 40 kilometers.

Suzuki Motor can also bring flying cars to India. Recently, it had signed a deal with software company Cyient to jointly develop its flying vehicle. Suzuki Motor Suzuki Motor has planned to manufacture electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. The company can export the EVs made in the country to Japan and Europe under its own brand. Suzuki Motor also plans to supply EVs to Toyota, another Japanese automobile company, for sale in Asia.
