In a post on social media platforms X and Instagram, user Nikhil Chawla said that his father had ordered food from Swiggy. When the delivery did not come on time, he got disappointed and decided to talk to Swiggy’s customer care.
According to the user, the elderly man did a Google search and found a number of ‘Swiggy call center’. According to Nikhil, when his father called the number, he was cheated of Rs 35,000 in the first transaction. When the elderly man came to know about this, he called the customer care again. Then the fraudsters took his credit card details.
Chawla claims that scammers copied his father’s SIM and cloned the phone and made transactions worth more than Rs 3 lakh.

“My father has been a victim of Cyber Time Bank fraud. He ordered food from @Swiggy. When the order was not received, he called after 3-4 hours for a refund. Someone duped him of Rs 35,000 in the name of UPI and took his credit card details and then copied the SIM. The total fraud amounted to more than Rs 3 lakh. Nikhil has sought help from Delhi Police.
