Recently, Tata Motors had reported that its total sales fell marginally to 2,43,024 units in the second quarter of the current financial year. It was 2,43,387 units in the same period last year. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of the company’s passenger vehicles unit, said, “Passenger vehicle sales have been strong due to new launches in the second quarter. Our EV sales continue to grow rapidly. We have offered twin cylinder CNG option in Tiago, Tigor and Punch and it is getting a good response.”

Tata Motors has sold 34,000 units of EV in the first half. The company has a 72 percent share in this market.
The company’s Tiago, Nexon and Tigor are among the best-selling EVs. It is followed by MG Motor and Mahindra, which have 10.8 percent and 9 percent share respectively in the EV market. The best-selling EV in the country is Tata Motors’ Tiago. It is followed by the same company’s Nexon and Tigor. Mahindra’s XUV400 is at the fourth position. Tata Motors has sold more than one lakh electric cars in the country. Recently, the company said that its electric cars have travelled approximately 1.4 billion kilometres in the country. Its Tiago EV is among the most affordable electric cars.
