It is available with a 6 speed manual gearbox and 6 speed AMT.
The price of its electric version is between Rs 14.74 lakh and Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in three variants – Creative, Fearless and Empowered. It comes in two battery packs. Its variant with 30 kWh battery pack has a range of about 325 km. Its 40.5 kWh variant can give a range of about 465 km. Recently Tata Motors had requested the central government not to give tax exemption on hybrid cars. The leader of the hybrid car segment Company Toyota had demanded a reduction in tax on hybrid vehicles. Tata Motors has presence in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EV) segments.
A Reuters report had said that Tata Motors said that taxes on hybrid cars should not be reduced as they emit more pollution than EVs. Hybrid cars that use a petrol engine and an electric motor along with an electric battery pack are taxed at 43 per cent in the country. In comparison, cars with petrol engines are taxed at 48 per cent. EVs are taxed at five per cent under the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
