Tesla Founder Elon Musk could be in Race for Nobel Peace Prize

Elon Musk, the founder of the big electric vehicle (EV) Tesla, has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Norwegian MP Marius Nilsen has put forward his name for the award, citing Musk’s strong support for freedom of expression.

A media Report According to, Nilsen praised Musk’s contribution, saying that his companies like Tesla and social media platform X have helped make the world connected and safe. However, the nomination list for the Nobel Peace Prize has not been revealed. Musk’s name coming out for this award indicates his influence on global affairs.

Recently Musk had said that if trade restrictions are not imposed on Chinese automobile companies then they can become a threat to global automobile companies. Tesla is facing tough competition from China’s BYD. BYD, funded by famous investor Warren Buffett, became the largest EV selling company in the last quarter by surpassing Tesla on the basis of its low-priced electric cars. Tesla had reduced the prices of its electric cars last year, but despite this, it lagged behind BYD in sales. Apart from this, Tesla’s margins have also been greatly affected. Musk said that Chinese automobile companies are giving tough competition and if tariffs are not imposed on them, then they can achieve great success outside China.

To compete with Chinese automobile companies, Tesla is preparing to make a low-priced compact crossover. Musk had said that its manufacturing could start in the second half of next year at the company’s Texas factory in the US. Tesla also plans to start its business in India. Some other states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are also inviting the company to set up factories. Tesla’s electric cars are not sold in the country. The main reason for this is the high import duty. However, Musk believes that there is a lot of potential for electric vehicles in the country.
