In a statement, the automaker said, “Toyota Kirloskar Motor today announced that it plans to increase prices of certain grades of its cars effective April 1, 2024. The move, estimated to be around 1 per cent, is attributed to rising input costs and operational costs.”

Price hikes are expected around the time of the new financial year and other automakers are expected to increase the prices of their vehicles in the coming weeks. Toyota is also preparing to introduce a new car based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx on April 3. The model is likely to be named the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taser at launch and this will be the reason for the price hike.
