Sheikh also claimed that many new technologies of the aviation sector will be used for the first time in the new international airport. He also said that a city is also being built around the airport in Dubai South. It is said that after the construction of the new airport and in the future, Dubai will need housing for 10 lakh people. Keeping this in mind, a new city is being built.
According to media reports, the area of the new airport will be 70 square kilometers. The target is to complete its construction in the next 10 years. A new airport is being built in view of the increasing burden on Dubai Airport. Dubai Airport is said to be the busiest airport in the world. The UAE government has been working on the project of a new airport for many years. This project had to be postponed in 2009 due to recession.
