The company has a blog post announced the launch of Zoom Workspace via , stating that users can get the new features on the new version of the Zoom app for desktop (version 6.0 or later). It is available to all paid subscribers at no additional cost. Free users currently do not have access to Zoom Workspace, which means they will have to buy Zoom Pro, the platform’s cheapest paid plan, priced at Rs 13,200 per year, to take advantage of the AI features.
The video conferencing platform has also shared details of its Zoom AI Companion, an AI assistant designed to perform multiple tasks. The AI companion is claimed to transcribe audio with 95 percent accuracy and deliver results 4 times faster than OpenAI’s GPT-4 based ChatGPT web client. Zoom did not reveal details about the AI assistant, including which large language model (LLM) is powering it.
The chatbot offers several functions such as summarizing meetings, brainstorming ideas, drafting chat messages and emails, etc. In particular, users will get the option to integrate the chatbot with Zoom Phone and get features like post-call summaries, voicemail prioritization, and more. Apart from this, Zoom has added a new Meetings tab, which comes with calendar support and a detailed view that shows the entire meeting lifecycle as well as all the files and information shared before and during the meeting. The interface comes with a handy toolbar, a multi-speaker view, and four color themes, which provide a better experience than the standard interface.
Zoom Team Chat is also getting new functions. Users will be able to see channel-related assets, whiteboards, and resources in a single view. These tools can be used inside the chat layout, allowing users to talk with others who can access them at the same time.
