Cases of making fake videos of leaders and celebrities with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have increased. Such videos are called deepfakes. The government is taking new steps against this. Regulations is preparing to make it. Under these regulations, the creator of deepfakes and the platform hosting it can be fined. To deal with this problem, regulations related to AI can soon be brought under legal ambit. The country’s AI market is estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25-35 percent to reach $17 billion by 2027. A report by Nasscom, an organization of software companies, and Boston Consulting Group said that the reasons behind this growth will be increased expenditure by enterprises on tech and investment in AI.
