Ferrari Stolen From F1 Driver 28 years ago Recovered By UK Police

Police in the UK have recovered a Ferrari stolen 28 years ago from a Formula 1 driver. It was a Ferrari F512M model which was red in colour. It was stolen from a man named Gerhard Berger and sent to Japan. It was then brought back to the UK in 2023. Its price is said to be 350,000 pounds (about Rs 3 crore 72 lakh). It was one of the 2 vehicles stolen at that time.

BBC According to a report by Gerhard Berger in 1995 Italy Ferrari was racing at the San Marino Grand Prix in 2024 when his luxury car was stolen. Ferrari sent a report to the Metropolitan Police in January 2024. In which the car was described. In 2023, Ferrari inspected a car that an American customer was buying through a UK broker. The inspection revealed that the car was stolen.

Metropolitan Police officer Mike Pilbeam investigated it. According to the officer, the car was missing for 28 years. He tracked it down in 4 days. His investigation paid off, which included contacting authorities around the world. However, no arrest has been made in this case so far. But the investigation is still going on.

The Ferrari Testarossa was last built as the Ferrari F512M. Around 500 cars were made from 1994 to 1996. Ferrari’s flagship vehicle in the 1980s was the Testarossa, which was prominently featured in the popular crime drama Miami Vice. Gerhard Berger was one of the faces who owned this luxury car at the time, including Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, and Elton John.
