Flipkart to Rolling Out Same Day Delivery Service in 20 Cities in India

Flipkart will soon offer same-day delivery in select regions of India. A wide range of products will be available for the shipping option. However, no specific date has been set as to when this service will be available to users in the country. The company has provided a general timeline for this. It will first be rolled out to users in some cities. Gradually this shipping option will be started for all users in the country.

The company announced on Wednesday that it will be launching in India Flipkart Same day delivery will soon be available to users. This service will start in February and will be available in 20 cities first. Initially, customers of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Patna, Raipur, Siliguri and Vijayawada will be able to avail this service.

Flipkart has said that users have to place the order by 1 pm to get same day delivery. After this, the customer can be assured of getting the product delivered before 12 pm (midnight). Any other order placed after 1 pm will be delivered the next day. According to Flipkart, the service will be extended for several months to reach more users by providing shipping options to users across India. The company said that many products, including mobiles, fashion and beauty items, lifestyle products, books, home appliances and electronics etc. will be delivered on the same day.

Let me tell you that e-commerce site Amazon Amazon offers multiple shipping options to its users including same-day delivery. Same-day, one-day and two-day delivery options are also free for Amazon Prime members. Both Prime Lite and non-Prime users can avail same-day and one-day delivery at an additional fee of Rs 175 and Rs 125 per item. While Prime Lite members can avail free two-day delivery, customers without a Prime subscription will have to pay an additional Rs 120 per item.
