Google’s newly upgraded Gemini AI model is now better than ever. Search has also improved with the AI model and Google has also incorporated it into its native app suite. Google says that the new Gemini AI will now make it easier to find photos in Google Photos. Users can now search for photos in the Google Photos app based on the conditions at that time. This feature has been named “Ask Photos”. Through this smart search feature, users can ask full questions instead of using keywords, such as “What is my license plate number”. After this, it will search the location and previous photos to find the right car. It can also find deeper memory, such as showing a child’s swimming progress over time.
Google Gemini has also tried to improve Workspace with Gemini. With Gemini 1.5 Pro, users can get a lot of related information with just one search in Gmail. Apart from this, Gemini has also made Google Meet smarter. If you are unable to attend hours-long meetings on Google Meet, then you can ask Gemini for the highlights of that meeting later.
The Power of Google Gemini Google Search has also been included. ‘AI Overviews’ shows you a summary of search results at the top of the AI search page. Its purpose is to give users concise answers to complex questions, which can save you time spent searching multiple websites. This feature is being made available to all users in the US this week.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that Gemini 1.5 Pro will have a 2 million token context window (the amount of information an AI model can understand), double the 1 million tokens it currently reads. This will make it possible to have very long conversations with Gemini, such as discussing an entire book with Gemini. This will allow Gemini to remember a lot more information before answering users’ questions.
Also revealed during Google IO was AlphaFold 3, a brand new AI tool launched by Google Deepmind and Isomorphic Labs. The new version can also predict what DNA and RNA molecules look like when scientists ask for them, using generic AI capabilities, compared to just proteins available in the previous version. It aims to make drug discovery easier and faster.
