Hyundai Exter SUV Gets More than 1 Lakh Bookings, Price, Features, Variants

Customers are liking Hyundai’s Exter SUV, one of the biggest automobile companies, a lot. The company has received more than one lakh bookings for it. It was launched about four months ago. Hyundai has a target of selling six lakh units in the country this year and Exter can play a major role in achieving it.

Hyundai Exter competes with Tata Motors’ Punch, Nissan’s Magnite, Renault’s Kiger and Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx. Some features of this micro SUV are first given in this segment. It gets six airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, parking sensors, central locking, emergency stop signal and high-speed alert as standard. Last month Hyundai Maruti Suzuki has increased the price of four of the six variants of the Exter by up to Rs 16,000. It is available in a starting price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). Its top end variant SX (O) Connect has got the least price hike of around Rs 5,000. It has dual-tone and automatic gear box. The company has increased the price of its SX(O) Connect variant the most by Rs 16,000. It has manual transmission with dual-tone. Its other variants have become costlier by around Rs 10,400. The price of the top-end variant of Exter has increased to around Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom). However, there is no change in the price of its entry level EX and SX(O) Connect variants.

Exter has a 1.2 liter petrol engine that generates 83 PS of power and 11.6 Nm of torque. It also has the option of a 1.2 liter bi-fuel petrol and CNG engine, which can generate 69 PS of power and 95.2 Nm of torque. It is available in both manual and automatic variants. Its design is based on Hyundai’s new design system, which has a split headlamp setup with H-shape LED DRL. It has a turn indicator in the upper part and a headlamp cluster below. Exter can give a mileage of 19.4 km per liter with manual transmission, 19.2 km per liter with automatic transmission and up to 27.1 km per liter in CNG.
