Meta According to Sandhya Devanathan, President of Meta’s Indian Division, India’s gaming sector will play a big role in the digital economy. It has the potential to provide more than 2.5 lakh jobs. This figure has been stated for 2025. Sandhya Devanathan said this during Meta’s first gaming summit in India. The company has collaborated with market research firm GWI to create a gaming playbook called Gaming Playbook. Report has introduced which talks about India’s gaming ecosystem.
This event of Meta was organized in Mumbai. Gaming firms like Dream 11 and Nazara Technologies were also present at the event. Many other popular creators were also present here. The report says that there are 14.6 crore gaming players in India who are real money gaming players (RMG). Whereas there are 20.2 crore non RMG players i.e. casual gaming players. 57 percent of RMG players and 51% casual gamers live outside in big cities.
The gaming sector is said to have huge potential. This is a sector which can also be exported, as there are many firms that make products for the global market. Therefore, the gaming sector also has the potential to provide jobs on a large scale. The report has been prepared on the basis of a survey conducted on 3 thousand internet users. 77 percent of casual gamers say that social media influenced them to purchase or download a game. Whereas among RMG gamers, 76 percent were those who purchased or downloaded a game influenced by social media.
