TCS has updated the variable pay policy and made work from office important in it. Four attendance slabs have been created to decide the variable pay of the workers. Under the new policy, those who come to office less than 60 percent in a quarter will not get any variable pay for that quarter. Workers with 60-75 percent attendance in TCS office will get 50 percent of the variable pay, and those with 75-85 percent attendance will get 75 percent. Only those workers with more than 85 percent attendance in the office will be given the full variable pay for that quarter. This policy warns that workers who continuously violate the 85 percent rule of working from office will have to face disciplinary action.
Recently, some workers in America accused TCS of employment discrimination. These workers said that the company terminated them by giving them a short notice and after that, workers from India on H-1B visa were hired in many vacant positions. According to a report by Wall Street Journal, more than 20 workers have filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This law enforcement agency of America declares discrimination in the workplace illegal.
